Alumni Stories

Lt. Governor Josh Green recently visited RYSE to learn firsthand the unique challenges faced by those in the 18 – 24 age group that are working to overcome homelessness.

In his role as Lt. Governor, Green is tasked with addressing the chronic homeless crisis in Hawaii. Visiting with the staff and residents at RYSE provided insight into not only the needs of this population, but to learn of the model RYSE employs to provide not simply food and safe shelter, but moreover the skills our young people need to become productive, self-sufficient adults.

We are very grateful that the Lieutenant Governor took the time to learn about the great work that is happening at RYSE, the phenomenal staff and strong, resilient young people that are successfully working toward independence, through education, employment and a myriad of other life skills. Plus, he brought great snacks! Mahalo Lt. Governor Green!
